New for 2010!

Counselling and Psychotherapy is pleased to announce the launch of the new full-time professional training programme in counselling, the Master of Counselling (Interpersonal Dialogue). This two-year programme, commencing in September 2010, provides a full professional and academic grounding in counselling, including substantial practice with counselling clients. We are now open for applications.

Welcome to Counselling and Psychotherapy

Based within the School of Health in Social Science, Counselling and Psychotherapy is one of Scotland’s principal providers of postgraduate education, training and research in the field of Counselling Studies. With more than fifteen years experience of providing training in counselling Counselling and Psychotherapy has been at the forefront of the development of counselling as a professional activity.

Since 2000, Counselling and Psychotherapy has consolidated its expertise in training and education with the development of a substantive programme of research of international standing, firmly locating the practice of counselling within the field of social scientific enquiry.

Counselling and Psychotherapy offers a number of postgraduate degree programmes from beginner-level training in counselling skills to advanced research degrees. These programmes include the Postgraduate Certificate in Counselling Studies, the part-time Master of Counselling, which includes the Pg Diploma in Counselling, the full-time Master of Counselling, the MSc in Counselling Studies, the MSc in Continuing Professional Practice, the MSc by Research in Counselling Studies and the PhD/MPhil programme.
