Local NHS Psychology Tutors

The Local NHS Psychology Tutors are funded by NHS Education Scotland and employed by local NHS areas. They provide input, at a local level, into the three post graduate Scottish Training Courses, namely the MSc Psychological Therapies in Primary Care, the University of Glasgow and the University of Edinburgh/NHS Scotland Clinical Psychology Courses.

All the Local Tutors are practicing Clinical Psychologists who provide sessional input into training. Their remit is to bridge local need with the courses’ requirements and contribute to communication systems. The Local Tutor nhs_logo

Posts are a new innovation and the work is currently audited as a pilot project.

Their role in our course is multi-faceted and includes trainee and supervisor support, supervisor training and placement planning. They conduct Mid Placement Visits along with the Central Tutor Team. Local Psychology Tutors attend the Training Committee and they also meet as an independent group.
